WELCOME TO SANCTUARY COUNSELLING

Counselling in Buxton and Online

COUNSELLING IS A PLACE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FEEL OUR FEELINGS

A place to be listened to and heard, to be safe to explore when something has gone wrong, to look at change, loss and growth.

I'm Ann.

I have long experience in caring professionally and personally, living in the UK and cross culturally. I am deeply interested in how we all function and what happens when functioning fails…

In counselling, I aim to offer a trusting, respectful, enabling relationship which allows you to be heard, share the pain, explore the dark side, acknowledge the issues  and look for a way through.  I am particularly interested in trauma and am privileged to lead a therapy team working with survivors of modern slavery and professionals who support them. I also work online with clients living outside the UK.

I also offer single, regular and intense sessions to individuals and groups wishing to debrief or explore professional and personal situations, often in relation to work in ministry and work overseas.

How it works

We start with an initial conversation, either in person or online. If you decide to go ahead, we'll agree a contract which will include session times, fees and any other business. Sessions are typically weekly and 50 minutes long.

In my experience, counselling works best face to face but I am willing to work online if you are unable to come to Invicta in person. We can also blend both options if need be.

I know it can be daunting to come to therapy and I will try to make it as welcoming and comfortable as possible.
